#PrepWithPurpose -- Day Six: Nikki Seals

For backstory on what #PrepWithPurpose is all about please read the blog entry and/or Instagram Post.

Hey Friends,

Quick prep update!! Yesterday was a good day for me physically … not so much emotionally. Even though I feel like God has guided me to do this little project .. I am still really struggling with feeling lost in this big world. I have no clue where I am suppose to be or what I'm suppose to be doing in life. We are so blessed and I am so thankful for that. But material things can't bring you purpose. I will continue to pray that God show me where he wants me to be in life. Physically I feel 95% better .. yay!! Back pain is pretty much gone and I was able to do the dreaded burpees on my agenda yesterday with no pain! I guess that is a blessing, haha. If you have ever done burpees you will see why I say .. I guess, ha! It was a great day in honor of Stacie and her cancer battle! I hope that she felt our prayers!

We are on DAY SIX of PREP WITH PURPOSE! Today is a rest day from lifting for me, which means I do a short session of HIIT cardio. Since I'm also doing a little "Glute Project" .. I'll be doing some quick home training on my Glute Builder for the booty as well :) Everything physical I do today will be in honor of Nikki. My motivation will come from her. Thank you GOD for giving me the ABILITY to be physical!

Prep With Purpose -- Day Six: Nikki Seals

I ask that you join me in praying for Nikki Seals. She is a 34 year old wife and mother of two young boys.

Nikki is suffering from a rare disease called Lymphangioleiomyomafosis! YES .. that is the name!!! I can't begin to even SAY this and could not imagine having to fight it. But Nikki has to everyday. LAS (in short) is a rare disorder which is generally diagnosed in women of childbearing age. It mainly affects the lungs, but I've been told that she has tumors growing on her organs...such as her kidneys, ovaries, lungs, etc.   More details here ------>

Nikki was diagnosed in March 2013 and is currently undergoing chemo.  I'm told by her loved ones that sent in this request that she is one of the strongest women they know and her faith NEVER waivers.

Cancer is a scary word. It doesn't discriminate and there are so many types. I'd never heard of LAM before today. As a 36 year old woman … this is so scary. Life is scary though, isn't it? In addition to disease, its scary to think that one day you could be walking around perfectly healthy and the next their be an accident (like in Brandy or JT's case) and be told you may never be able to talk again? Or like little Kobe who was simply playing in a bond and developed a septic infection! Let us be grateful for the health we are given TODAY and not take one single moment for granted.

As I run my sprints this morning I will inhale and exhale with gratitude. I will not complain that I am out of breath. I will think of Nikki and the breathing problems that LAM causes her. I will be grateful that I can run and am panting for air because of PHYSICAL ABILITY .. not because of a physical limitation/disease.

I hope you are joining me on this prayer journey as I prep for #TeamU on July 1st & 2nd! If you are please post/share and use the hashtag #PrepWithPurpose! Let's get a huge prayer chain going and in the process maybe make the sport of bodybuilding less about "me, me, me" and a little more about helping others! Our motivation doesn't have to come from ONLY ourselves!

XO
Stacy
