#PrepWithPurpose -- July 15, 2016: Jimbo Messer

For backstory on what #PrepWithPurpose is all about please read the blog entry and/or Instagram Post.

Hey Friends,

Ahhh ... it's show day eve! I don't do a lot of physical things today. I have a very short 20min circuit and that is it! Today is a lot of "mental" focus and then the typical pre-show stuff. I have our competitors meeting, I prep my skin one last time for my stage tan and then I go get tanned  .. which I absolutely HATE! It's awkward and freezing and then I'm paranoid for the rest of the time that I'll get water on myself and ruin it (or .. uhh .. pee ..lol. Yes that happens. You don't realize how hard it is not NOT get pee on you until you have this tan. If you follow me on SnapChat you have seen me snap this, ha.) Thankfully they are good at fixing it when that happens :) My biggest prayer today is for my mind to be at ease and my body to continue to dial in. I have woken up each day with such butterflies in my stomach! That NEVER happens to me before shows .. especially DAYS before shows .. so I can only imagine how I'll feel tomorrow! I go on at NOON (ct) so please send up those good vibes at that time!

Yesterday we lifted up and for a pastor who has spent his life praying for others. I hope he felt the extra prayers sent his way as he battles lung cancer and recovers from surgery. Yesterday was another light training day, but super busy with lots of fun errands. I was able to get my hair and nails done with MY PEEPS that I always went to when I lived in Nashville .. so that was nice. As odd as it was to be 'home" .. it kinda feels like we never left :)

Today we are lifting up and for someone that I wish we weren't (obviously) but he is a perfect "fit' for this project .. as fitness IS his life! Today help me lift up and for a fellow member of our #FitFam.

Prep With Purpose -- July 15, 2016: Jimbo Messer

Jimbo Messer is a personal trainer that lives in Bristol, Tn. On July 10th, he went about his normal workout routine running the trails at a nearby park. A short while later, Jimbo was found on the ground unresponsive. He was rushed to the ER and he is now fighting for his life in ICU.
This is the latest update from his family as of late last night -- "He's still in ICU on a ventilator but he is showing some positive, small signs of movement and awareness. So all we can keep doing is praying and let God and Jimbo do the rest. The prayers now are for him to fully wake up and for full recovery. He has a long way to go and isn't out of this storm but we are encouraged by the fact today was better than yesterday. And progress, no matter how small, is progress. Sometimes "beast mode" is opening your eyes to acknowledge the presence of the person talking to you. Sometimes "beast mode" is pulling your arm away from the neurologist that pinched you. So keep praying friends. Christ hears our cries."

THIS is exactly what I am talking about -- ONE SECOND we can be PERFECTLY HEALTHY and literally the next ......... not. Jimbo was the picture of health! I'm sure this is the last thing he and his family ever thought would happen. A reminder to NEVER FOR ONE SECOND take our health for granted! No one is spared when it comes to things like this. We are all possible victims. Tragedy doesn't not discriminate. While we can do things to help PREVENT and keep our bodies healthy ... we never know.

Jimbo has a long road to recovery and medical bills will be overwhelming. They need all the help they can get. As I've said with any other Funding Page .. if I don't know the person .. I  don't vouch for the need. But I always pass it on and leave it up to you if you feel led to give. HERE is the link in case you want to give to Jimbo and his family.

Please pray for Jimbo and also remember his wife Chelsea and a 4 year old son Branson in your thoughts. His friends and family have started a hashtag -- #JimboStrong -- so if you are joining me and share this entry .. make sure and use the hashtag so that they see you are thinking of them!

XoXo

I hope you are joining me on this PREP WITH PURPOSE journey! If you are ... please post/share and use the hashtag #PrepWithPurpose! Let's get a huge prayer chain going and in the process maybe make the sport of bodybuilding less about "me, me, me" and a little more about helping others! Our motivation doesn't have to come from ONLY ourselves!

If you know anyone that needs urgent or ongoing prayer for any physical reason please email me all the information and a picture (or a few) to simplystacyfitness@yahoo.com.
