#PrepWithPurpose -- July 13, 2016: Little Landon

For backstory on what #PrepWithPurpose is all about please read the blog entry and/or Instagram Post.

Hey Friends,

I am all settled in here at my hotel in Nashville .. trying to rest up the next few days and get in some visits with friends before taking the stage for my PRO DEBUT on Saturday!!!

When I started Prep With Purpose I never in a million years thought I'd be prepping for a PRO STAGE!! God's timing is so perfect .. so good. There is not one day that has passed that I have not thanked him NUMEROUS times a day for this and asked him to please let me somehow use this opportunity to glorify Him and bless others. I am NOT an ideal Christian. In fact .. you shouldn't look up to me as one. But I am a child of God and I love him. I am deeply flawed. But God knows my heart .. he knows I'm trying .. I just want to do MY best and be a better person during this short time we have here on earth.

Yesterday we lifted in honor of a young athlete whose life was taken way too soon. I prayed for Jerry Greer's family all day yesterday. I hope they somehow felt the love.

Today we are lifting up and for a little boy named Landon who has been diagnosed with a genetic disorder that causes a wide range of physical, cognitive and medical challenges. He needs long term prayer!

Prep With Purpose: July 13, 2016: Little Landon

Just look at that little smile!!!! Everyone .. meet Landon. His request came to me from a fellow competitor (again .. I can't tell you how stoked I am to see fellow competitors involved in this little Prep With Purpose project.)

Landon has Cornelia de Lang (CdLS) - which is a genetic disorder present at birth, but not always diagnosed at birth.

Landon's journey with CdLS has been inspiring to many people. He has been faced with obstacle after obstacle every single day but continues to make progress. A couple years ago, Landon and his parents (Kevin and Stephanie) traveled to the Kennedy Krieger Institute in Baltimore for an inpatient feeding program so that they could get intense therapies and a wide range of expertise needed. Landon continues to live with this disorder and make great progress in school, learning sign language communication skills, going from eating nothing by mouth to eating and loving food, from not walking to walking and climbing! He has come SO far but still has a long road ahead of him. So today I will remember Landon. He never let a physical "disability" slow him down one bit! That is some serious motivation :)

CdLS is seen in all races and ethnic backgrounds, and the occurrence of CdLS is estimated to be 1 in 10,000 live births. (For more information about Cornelia de Lang, visit www.cdlsusa.org.

I hope you are joining me on this PREP WITH PURPOSE journey! If you are ... please post/share and use the hashtag #PrepWithPurpose! Let's get a huge prayer chain going and in the process maybe make the sport of bodybuilding less about "me, me, me" and a little more about helping others! Our motivation doesn't have to come from ONLY ourselves!

If you know anyone that needs urgent or ongoing prayer for any physical reason please email me all the information and a picture (or a few) to simplystacyfitness@yahoo.com.
