#PrepWithPurpose -- Day Twenty: Brylee

For backstory on what #PrepWithPurpose is all about please read the blog entry and/or Instagram Post.

Hey Friends,

It's here guys! I am ONE WEEK from stage! Ahh.. so many emotions! Got some great feedback yesterday and right now my body is dialing in as planned. Fingers crossed it continues that way! Trying to stay as stress free as possible by being pro-active and getting as much done as I can ... so I'm running around like crazy this week and NOT next week (I fly out early Wednesday.)
I always get so stressed and overwhelmed show week .. NOT good for my body! But thanks to Prep With Purpose ... every time I start to get stressed I have great reminders to RELAX and be JOYOUS!

Yesterday we lifted for a young woman named Hannah. She was recently diagnosed with Sacroma. You can read more about her and her journey in yesterdays entry... but her attitude just amazes me. So every time I started to feel overwhelmed instead of overjoyed I stopped and remembered if she can have a great attitude and have tumors in her body .. I can have a joyous attitude too!

We are moving on to DAY 20 of PREP WITH PURPOSE. Today's request comes to me from a former co-worker of mine from when I was a news anchor at WVLT in Knoxville, Tn. Join me in lifting up and for my friend Kristi's little niece Brylee who was born with a rare bone disease and now ... at only 5 ... is having to try to learn to live her life .. with one leg.

The only thing on my agenda today is field sprints. This is always how I spend my Friday mornings  but today is gonna be extra tough. Not only are we still experiencing 110+ degree temps here in Vegas .. THIS Friday I have to do a few extra circuits compared to normal weeks! When I enter peak week my lifting goes DOWN but my cardio goes just up a tad. So I'll be spending a good 10-15 min extra out on that hot field today. But I have this sweet little girl as my motivation.

Prep With Purpose -- Day Twenty: Brylee

5 year old Brylee was born with Osteofibrous Dysplasia, which is a rare bone disease that affects her left leg. The disease made it to where her leg was unable to grow and would break easily. She had surgeries to try to repair it and was in a cast for 2 years, but nothing was working. The doctors decided amputation surgery was the best option for her. She had the surgery a couple months ago and now has a prosthetic. It's a slow process in her learning how to walk with it and she's having issues with pain.

This would be hard to accept at any age .. but I'm sure it's very confusing for a 5 year old :-(

Obviously, this is a physical handicap she will have to overcome for the rest of her life. You can keep up with this little fighters journey on her FACEBOOK PAGE.

I have TWO LEGS that work. I will NOT complain when I am out on that field this morning. I will be JOYOUS that I'm blessed with the ABILITY to run!! Every stride will be in honor of little Brylee!

XoXo

I hope you are joining me on this prayer journey as I prep for #TeamU on July 1st & 2nd! If you are please post/share and use the hashtag #PrepWithPurpose! Let's get a huge prayer chain going and in the process maybe make the sport of bodybuilding less about "me, me, me" and a little more about helping others! Our motivation doesn't have to come from ONLY ourselves!

If you know anyone that needs urgent or ongoing prayer for any physical reason please email me all the information and a picture (or a few) to simplystacyfitness@yahoo.com.
