#PrepWithPurpose -- Day Eight: Jerry Rone

For backstory on what #PrepWithPurpose is all about please read the blog entry and/or Instagram Post.

Hey Friends …

My heart breaks as I wrote this blog. I updated his blog I did on Monday .. but it is with a sad heart that I pass along that little 7 year old Kobe passed away yesterday afternoon. I don't have any details. But I am sure that his family needs prayer. On Saturday in addition to lifting for 17 year old Tyler .. I lifted IN MEMORY of Kobe. Sweet boy .. may you run pain free with the angles now :( But I know you are missed here on earth.

As we enter Day Eight of this little project .. I can't help but be a tad angry. Angry that Kobe died and angry that so few of my "fit friends" are taking part in this project. As I mentioned yesterday … it bothers me. Especially now that one of the people we prayed for has passed away. If people would only take 5min out of their day to log on and see who the "person" of the day is and say a prayer for them …. so many more people would have been praying for Kobe. I know it was obviously "his time" .. but still … it bothers me.

Either way .. I move along with DAY EIGHT of PREP WITH PURPOSE!! I am so grateful that God gives me good health and the ability to go to the gym everyday. I will NOT take that for granted!

Prep With Purpose -- Day Eight: Jerry Rone

A social media  friend of mine sent me this request. He works with Jerry's wife. Today we are praying for Jerry Rone ... a father and husband who has cancer taking over his body.

I don't have a lot of information on Jerry. But here is what I know. His name is Jerry Rone and he has stage 4 gastric cancer. The cancer spread into 19 of his lymph nodes after doctors removed part of his stomach.  He's currently being treated at the Cancer Treatment Centers of America.

Let's pray for Jerry and his entire family … as cancer not only affects the person fighting it…but every single loved one as well.

Today I will lift in honor of JERRY! I simply can not imagine the way it feels to have cancer eating away at your body. How exhausted, how sick, how weak he must feel? I have the ability to be active and I will not take that for granted! With every rep .. I will lift for JERRY today!!

I hope you are joining me on this prayer journey as I prep for #TeamU on July 1st & 2nd! If you are please post/share and use the hashtag #PrepWithPurpose! Let's get a huge prayer chain going and in the process maybe make the sport of bodybuilding less about "me, me, me" and a little more about helping others! Our motivation doesn't have to come from ONLY ourselves!

XO
Stacy

If you know anyone that needs urgent or ongoing prayer for any physical reason please email me all the information and a picture (or a few) to simplystacyfitness@yahoo.com.
