#PrepWithPurpose - July 29, 2016: Robert Prater

For backstory on what #PrepWithPurpose is all about please read the blog entry and/or Instagram Post.

Hey Friends,

Yesterday I was back in my comfort zone (if you wanna call it that, lol.) Despite it being one of the hottest days of the year (probably should have planned that one out a little better and did that indoor cardio yesterday instead of Wednesday.) But there was no way I was doing indoor cardio again ... it makes me feel like a slacker and we don't have time for that! So I went to bed a little earlier than usual so I could start my day earlier and try to get them in before the temps got even higher (it was 114 yesterday) .. and guess what happened .. GOD GAVE ME A BLANKET OF CLOUDS!!!! It felt like it was 80 degrees instead of over 100!  I was so grateful! Dare I say this .. but sprints were EASY yesterday!!! It also really helped to have someone I know as my Prep With Purpose motivation ... and my new headphones from my hubs didn't hurt either :)

I hope clouds are in the forecast again on Saturday and Sunday. My peak week for Tampa Pro starts on Saturday so my training split starts over. I do two days of HIIT and NO training on Sat/Sun to kick off my week  .. but my HIIT on peak week (only on those two days) is a few *extra* high intensity sets. So I'm praying for those clouds again!!!

This morning I'm up a little earlier again and running to the gym for about an hour to do a quick endurance lift and a glute circuit. Then it's off to go watch pre-judging for USAs here in Vegas. It's crazy to think that it was my PLAN to compete in this show ... but THANKFULLY God had other plans and I earned Pro status at my first show of the year...so now I get to go watch!!! This will be the first time I've ever watched a National show and NOT been competing!!! Pretty exciting :)

Today I'll be lifting up and for a young man that suffered from a ruptured brain aneurysm a few days ago. I hope you join me and use his story as a reminder that we aren't guaranteed another second. In a split second ... our health can be GONE. Don't take advantage that you have it today!

Prep With Purpose - July 28, 2016: Robert Prater

Robert Prater (Bubba as he is known by his family) is 34 years young. He has never been sick a day in his life. He is young and vibrant. He is a husband and a hard worker and by looking at him .... he appears to be the picture of perfect health. Then .. in the blink of an eye .. his health took a drastic turn.

While visiting family this past Sunday Bubba was suddenly unable to control his arms and legs. He developed a massive headache and says he heard a pop in his head. He then immediately fell to the floor. His wife and sisters rushed him to the hospital.

His symptoms quickly pointed to an aneurysm. The next day Bubba underwent neurosurgery for endovascular coiling, but the aneurysm opening was too large. The surgery would have been ineffective. The following day, the neurosurgeon performed a surgical aneurysm clipping which requires an craniotomy (removing part of his skull and working directly on his brain). The surgery was a great success! But the surgeon told Bubba that the aneurysm was significant and he was "lucky" to be alive.

Bubba's next hurdle is getting past days 6 thru 10 without vasospasms causing a stroke.  They are half way there. The neurosurgeon said that vasospasms (the body obsorbing the blood and veins contracting) will happen. SO they need prayers that he WILL NOT suffer a stroke!

Recovery is going to be a LONG road. So his sister created a Go Fund Me page for his medical expenses and to support cost of living for he and his wife. As always ... I can't vouch for this family needing the money because I don't know them. But I always pass these pages along so that you can give if you feel led to!

Today while I am doing my endurance lift .. it will be for Bubba. I will be grateful that I am healthy and aware that at ANY moment ... in ONE second .. that could change!!! Tragedy doesn't discriminate. We could feel and look healthy .. but in one second ... be the exact opposite. I will not complain during my workout, I will not dread getting out of bed, I will be grateful that I'm given this day .. this moment ... and lift up and for bubba the entire time! I hope you join me!

XoXo
Stacy

I want to continue this project/prayer chain. But I'm finding myself spending HOURS searching for people to "lift up and for" because I'm not getting any requests -- I know you guys have to know someone (or have heard of someone) with an ongoing or urgent need for physical healing?
Please send me all details possible, a pic if they don't mind sharing, etc. simplystacyfitness@yahoo.com
