#PrepWIthPurpose -- July 25, 2016: Tommie

For backstory on what #PrepWithPurpose is all about please read the blog entry and/or Instagram Post.

Hey Friends,

I feel horrible that there wasn't a Prep With Purpose yesterday. But nobody has sent me anything lately .. and if they have .. it's been "incomplete" (meaning not enough info to write a full blog just yet.) Anytime you see a skipped day .. know I'm not slacking and I simply need prayer requests!! I know you all have to see them (in the news, on facebook, at church, etc.) No request is too small or too big! It simply has to be someone that needs urgent or ongoing need for PHYSICAL prayer!

Since I didn't have anyone with that specific need .. I personally "lifted up and for" everyone that was traveling back to their destinations following the wedding we attended. People were there from all over the globe! It was such a nice time with all of our #FitFam! I can't wait to be re-connected with some of them in Vegas this weekend (many are in town for USAs) or in September for My. Olympia!

I needed some motivation yesterday though....really bad.  It was a really rough morning and I felt really weak. Another night of very little sleep (In two nights I got less sleep than I should get in one) and long day of traveling. But before we could travel ... I had to train. It was suppose to be an upper body MAX effort day (heavier lift) .. and I did it .. but man I felt so weak! Sleeping is SO vital you guys. I now better than to skimp on it .. but sometimes it really is beyond your control and this was just one of those weekends! I'll catch up this week!

Moving on to today! I'm actually not sure what my lift is going to be. I may have to double up and lift and do cardio because we have so much going on this week with friends coming into town this weekend. Either way .. I'll be lifting up and for a woman in Memphis .. her name is Tommie.

Prep With Purpose - July 25, 2016: Tommie

Most of the time PREP WITH PURPOSE centers around someone very young, and/or someone with a sudden illness, a tragedy, some sort of accident, etc. But when someone is sick .. it doesn't matter how "old" they are .. or how common their illness is .. or if it's because of "age". It doesn't mean we don't want them to be better! Today we are lifting up and for the mother of a social media friend of mine. Her name is Tommie and she will be 80 years young this year.

Tommie has both Alzheimer's & Parkinson's disease. Both of these diseases are traumatic to both the person suffering and the families. It's so sad that she has to live with both. Tommie stays in a nursing home now. Her youngest son (who she thankfully still remembers at this point) tells me that she has good days and bad days. Tommie once loved arts and crafts ... but just isn't able to do them anymore. This really tugged at my heart because it reminded me of my mamaw mccloud .. she was the same way. So today I will lift up and for Tommie. I bet she would give anything to be in a healthier body. She would love to be doing her crafting. But she can't. I pray that what days God bless her with are filled with wonderful memories and no pain.

Tommie -- today is for you :)

I hope you are joining me on this PREP WITH PURPOSE journey! If you are ... please post/share and use the hashtag #PrepWithPurpose! Let's get a huge prayer chain going and in the process maybe make the sport of bodybuilding less about "me, me, me" and a little more about helping others! Our motivation doesn't have to come from ONLY ourselves!

If you know anyone that needs urgent or ongoing prayer for any physical reason please email me all the information and a picture (or a few) to simplystacyfitness@yahoo.com.
