#PrepWIthPurpose -- Day Eleven: Mary Lee Corner

For backstory on what #PrepWithPurpose is all about please read the blog entry and/or Instagram Post.

Hey hey ..

I woke up today with a much better attitude than yesterday! So for anyone who prayed for me to get my mind right .. thank you :) I also got my NEW competition suit from my suit sponsor CJ's Elite!! Ahhh .. it's so pretty!!! Any guesses as to what color we picked? I don't know why, but when us competitors get new suits, there is just something fun about waiting until show weekend for the "reveal".

With ten days behind us, I also want to thank you to everyone taking part in this little project. I try not to get irritated that so few competitors are reading these and taking part ... but I'm just gonna keep on doing my thing and hope others join me in trying to make this sport more than just "me-me-me" :)
I know that I use the word prayer for PREP WITH PURPOSE and that is because I do believe in God and prayer. BUT that said .. if you do not .. that is okay!! It doesn't mean you can't take part! You can send your thoughts, well wishes, good ju ju, or send out prayers to whatever Gods YOU believe in! While I obviously want you ALL to be my brothers and sisters in Christ .. I'd never push "religion" on anyone. So that said .. you don't have to believe in praying to MY God to think of these people and use them as your motivation for your workouts!

Okay ... moving on up to DAY ELEVEN of PREP WITH PURPOSE!!! Let's do this!!

Wednsday is my hardest lift of the week! In addition to it being my longest/most grueling day at the gym, I have to do coach check-ins bright and early, cook & pack meals for travel (which is the biggest headache in the world), do laundry, pack/pick clothes and .. and .. and .. in order to leave on Thursday for SUMMER SMASH (my sponsors (1st Phorm) big yearly event in St. Louis.) Speaking of 1st Phorm .. I just love helping you all with your supplement and/or vitamin regimes! I love even more when people send me emails telling me just how much the 1st Phorm products are helping them!! You dont' have to be an ATHLETE to take these supplements. In fact .. three of my FAVORITE "supplements" are something pretty much everyone reading this should take for day to day health!! So EMAIL ME and lets get you started on being YOUR BEST .. inside/out :)
Okay .. back on topic!! Let's go!! WE CAN! WE WILL!! Let's do this thing!

Imagine being in a car accident. Now ... imagine being severely injured in a car accent. Now .. imagine NO ONE KNOWING that you you had been in an accident..possibly left to die!! Sounds like something in a movie....doesn't it? That is exactly what happened to a 70 year old woman from my hometown. Her name is Mary Lee Corner.

Today my lift will be in honor of this brave lady. Every ounce of energy I put into my workout will be in honor of her and with gratitude that my body is well and able. I will use Mary's story as my motivation. She is proof that all it takes is ONE BLINK and LIFE CAN CHANGE FOREVER!!! We should not and can not take our abilities for granted!!!

Here is what I know about Mary. Her family hadn't heard from her in a few days and became concerned. Little did anyone know .. she had been in a single car accident. Nobody knew .. not until a couple heard a woman screaming, found Mary hidden down and embankment and rescued her. She was not only injured ... but had been alone in her mangled car ... without food or water ... and in extreme heat for FOUR DAYS (according to friends/family that sent me this prayer request.) Mary was flown to University of Tennessee Medical Center trauma unit in what was described as "really bad shape". I did get an update just prior to posting this that she is now STABLE, but has possibly suffered a stroke. Please join me in praying for this woman, her family and the medical professionals working to save her life.

I hope you are joining me on this prayer journey as I prep for #TeamU on July 1st & 2nd! If you are please post/share and use the hashtag #PrepWithPurpose! Let's get a huge prayer chain going and in the process maybe make the sport of bodybuilding less about "me, me, me" and a little more about helping others! Our motivation doesn't have to come from ONLY ourselves!

If you know anyone that needs urgent or ongoing prayer for any physical reason please email me all the information and a picture (or a few) to
