#PrepWithPurpose - July 31, 2016: Zander Brown

For backstory on what #PrepWithPurpose is all about please read the blog entry and/or Instagram Post.

Hey Friends,

It's another day of NO lifting and ONLY HIIT cardio. Last night we had a great evening at NPC USAs Finals (still .. it is so surreal to be attending one of these shows as a PRO) and today we plan to have some of our #FitFam over for a cookout! But before our company comes over ....I'll head out onto my field and go as hard as I can .... and I have a sweet little boy as my motivation today.

Prep With Purpose - July 30, 2016: Zander Brown

Another story coming to you from my hometown today. A couple of years ago .. now 5 year old Zander Brown of LaFollette, Tn ... was severely burned over much of his body. To make this story even more heartbreaking ... the accident happened while he was under his step fathers care. His mother Nakita Morton was charged with aggravated child neglect. Her husband was charged with aggravated child abuse and neglect. They are still awaiting trial. Little Zander now lives with his father.

Since the incident ... Zander's life has been filled with countless procedures and surgeries. His dad says he is now at the where the appearance of his burns are starting to bother him. Right now doctors aren't sure how many more procedures he will have to have ... they are taking his surgeries one step at a time .. but he does have several skin graft treatments planned in Cincinnati. “These operations are a step towards getting him to enjoy his childhood, what he has left of it to try to make it normal as possible,” his dad told WATE news in Knoxville, TN.

Well ... here is an "awe" moment for you! After WATE news did the story about Zander needing financial assistance to continue getting his skin grafts ... Shriners Hospital came to the rescue! They are covering his medical expenses, food and lodging so he can get the upcoming treatment he needs!!! ((To see the story CLICK HERE))

Zander's dad said despite the trauma he went through at only 3 years old ... he is such a happy little boy ... always finding a reason to smile :)

So .... if you feel the need to frown today ... to be negative about something happening in your life or something that has happened in your past ... remember Zander's little smile! If HE can smile and not complain ... so can we!!!

Today while I'm out in that heat running .. I will thank God for all my blessings .. I'll not look back .. only forward with a big SMILE! I'll run in honor of how brave little Zander has been .. and lift up and for his continued road to happiness and recovery!

XoXo
Stacy

I want to continue this project/prayer chain. But I'm finding myself spending HOURS searching for people to "lift up and for" because I'm not getting any requests -- I know you guys have to know someone (or have heard of someone) with an ongoing or urgent need for physical healing?
Please send me all details possible, a pic if they don't mind sharing, etc. simplystacyfitness@yahoo.com
