1st Phorm Cinnamon Roll Protein Toast

Love cinnamon rolls but also want to be fit and healthy? I have a great recipe for you that is gluten and guilt free!!

Hey Fit Fam,

Even when I'm not prepping for a show, if it's not my cheat meal, it isn't often I stray from the typical healthy carb staples. They are just better for you. But I really wanted something different today and I'm not on any kind of official prep yet ... so I came up with this little delicious breakfast (that I had for lunch) creation.

I can't tell you the last time I had a cinnamon roll. I was diagnosed with Celiac in 2006 and there really just aren't any good substitutes for some stuff (cinnamon rolls & donuts to name a couple.) I tried the pre-made Udi's Cinnamon Rolls a looooooong time ago ... YUCK! Plus they are HORRIBLE for you. As I was grocery shopping this week I saw that Udi's had Gluten Free Cinnamon Raisin Bread. I flipped it over and the macros weren't too bad at all.

The ingredients weren't horrible either. Not what I'd prefer but also not 'bad" for sure. So today I decided to make a little creation. It would have been Cinnamon ROLLS but I didn't have toothpicks and gluten free bread isn't really "soft" at all. So I made it into toast sticks! It was super easy! Since I only used 1/2 scoop of protein I needed more protein and I always have veggies when possible .. so I also had a side of Veggie/Egg White scramble!

If you want to make this NOT gluten free and even contest prep friendly for those allowed protein powder and Ezekiel bread ... just use Ezekiel bread instead of Udi's!!

Ingredients:
*1st Phorm Level 1 Vanilla Milkshake (( I used 1st Phorm Level One because it's more of a meal replacement. 1st Phorm Phormula 1 is a Whey Isolate so it's designed for pre and post workout. However, Phormula 1 can be used first thing in the morning!! So if you had this for your 1st meal and you eat often go ahead and use Phormula 1 CTC (cinnamon toast crunch).
*2 Slices Udi's Cinnamon Raisin Bread **substitute Ezekiel bread if you can have gluten. They also have a cinnamon raisin I believe**
*Walden Farm's Pancake Syrup (only this kind unless you want tons of calories and sugar. this is calorie/carb/sugar FREE)
*Cinnamon & Stevia *optional but makes it better*
*Low Carb/Low Sugar Vanilla Yogurt for icing (greek or regular) *optional*
*Water

Directions:

*Mix together 1/2 scoop 1st Phorm protein, a little walden farms (I didn't measure but it was probably 1-2tbs), enough water to make it a thin paste type consistency, some cinnamon and 1 pkg stevia.

*Cut toast into strips. Put protein syrup creation on top. But not all of it. Only a little more than half is good.

*Put toast strips in a 350 degree oven for about 6-8min.  I put mine on sprayed foil... but you could do a sprayed cookie sheet.

*Meanwhile stir in 1 tbs of the yogurt to the left over mixture to make an icing! I put mine in the freezer so it got cold and wish I had done it longer so it was a different texture. You don't have to do any of this step. If you can't have yogurt try adding more stevia, some kind of flavored extract, etc. Just something to make it a little different taste. But leaving it the same is fine too!Or just maybe just add more syrup so it's runnier! Or you can put ALL the icing on before you put it in the oven. Up to you!! I liked the consistancy difference of putting 1/2 on while baking and 1/2 when not.

**** If you want to make these into actual cinnamon rolls, just roll up after you put on 1/2 the icing and put a toothpick in them so they stay together while baking. Take toothpick out & add icing ****
