#PrepWithPurpose -- July 10, 2016: Ranger Dave Wallace

For backstory on what #PrepWithPurpose is all about please read the blog entry and/or Instagram Post.

Hey Friends,

I did it!!! I got past what is my most dreaded day of peak week.... my extra cardio (only) day! Today is another REST day from weights and HIIT (cardio) only. I do LESS than yesterday but still a TINY bit more than "usual" ... so I once again .. I really dread it. #StruggleBus is the theme of my life this weekend I guess, lol. However the positive spin is that it only takes like 25-30min and I do it FIRST THING before it gets TOO hot here in Vegas. So it's DONE and I have the entire rest of the day to relax! It's nice having a couple of low key days before the craziness of travel and show week kicks into full gear.

Yesterday for PREP WITH PURPOSE I had some great motivation from Cary -- a man that is currently in a coma following a non-life threatening surgery. Today .. I am asking everyone to lift up a man I don't personally know .. but I know his sons .. his name is Ranger Dave Wallace.

Dave is the father of a friend of mine. My friends name is Beano Wallace. He is very well known, loved and respected within the Tennessee #FitFam. In fact, he is the very first person that told me I should compete! That was a good DECADE ago!! Beano Wallace is a personal trainer, NPC judge and a great man. I've known him for years and he actually was my personal trainer back when I lived in Knoxville and went on a "I wanna get buff" kick for a little while. It was then that he told me I should consider competing. I was CLUELESS as to what female bodybuilding really was and only thought (like many) -- eww no, big muscles, haha. I guess I should have listened to him back then :)

Anyway, Beano's dad was in an accident a couple of days ago. Let's LIFT UP and FOR Dave today!!!

Prep With Purpose -- July 10, 2016: Dave Wallace
Dave Wallace was in a car accident a couple of days ago. He has multiple injuries including a broken leg, broken ribs and neck injury. He has a very long road to recovery. He is retired and on a limited income. Insurance costs will begin to mount up and potentially consume most of his retirement earnings. He will begin 6 weeks of therapy next week and will require lots of therapy on his road to recovery.
His family is moving Dave to another facility over the next couple of days so that he will be able to start his rehab process.

As I've said before .. If I don't personally know someone I do not vouch for their "Go Fund Me" pages. I simply post them and let you decide.

However ... I know this family well .. so I will personally vouch that the money is needed. If you can donate I KNOW that it will be sincerely and greatly appreciated! As you consider if you should give what you can ... stop and think .. you never know when it could be YOU in need!

If for some reason you are unable to give. You can send your well wishes via mail to:

Today I will LIFT UP and LIFT FOR Dave Wallace. In one second his life changed .. resulting in a spiral of physical, emotional and financial stress. When I don't want to sprint and I feel like my lungs can't handle it .. I'll remember Dave and how much those broken ribs must cause him to hurt with each inhale/exhale. I will be grateful that I am choosing to put my body through this and that it is only temporary. Dave will be my motivation today ... I hope he can feel the prayers and love!

I hope you are joining me on this PREP WITH PURPOSE journey! If you are ... please post/share and use the hashtag #PrepWithPurpose! Let's get a huge prayer chain going and in the process maybe make the sport of bodybuilding less about "me, me, me" and a little more about helping others! Our motivation doesn't have to come from ONLY ourselves!

If you know anyone that needs urgent or ongoing prayer for any physical reason please email me all the information and a picture (or a few) to simplystacyfitness@yahoo.com.
